Obituary - Comrade Sim Swee Toh
It is with deep regret that we note the passing away of Comrade Sim Swee Toh, who was AESU's Vice President from 1978 to 1979. He was 82 years.

The Exco and members offer our heartfelt condolences to his family members and wish them fortitude in their hour of sadness.

AESU Quadrennial Ordinary General Meeting (OGM)
This is to inform you that the 13th Quadrennial Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of the Air-Transport Executive Staff Union (AESU) will be held on Friday, 12th November, from 6 pm onwards. For the convenience of our members, the OGM will be held at the SIA Sports Club.

Progressively, details will be posted on the AESU website. As a symbolic gesture of AESU's support for protection of the environment, all documents including minutes of the last OGM, reports and audited accounts, will also be posted on the website. So ......

AESU reached agreement with on 2010 SI, CA and Re-employment

Breaking News

After several rounds of talks, AESU is pleased to inform members that it has reached agreement with SIA last Friday, 21 May on:

1) Service Increment for 2010

2) New Collective Agreement

3) Re-employment beyond 62 years old

Both parties will be signing the Points of Agreement (POA) on the three matters on Monday, 31 May 2010.

SERVICE INCREMENT 2010

For 2010 SI, all eligible AOs in scale 1 to 4 will be granted SI of $120, $130,$145, $165 respectively from 1 July 2010, while those who reached or exceeded their respective salary scales, would receive a lump sum ......

SIA Service Increment 2010 - Updates

 At the last mediatory meeting at the Ministry of Manpower on 31 March, your Union suggested to the Company to make an interim payment of 1% of basic pay to AESU members while waiting for the announcement of the full term results for FY 2009/2010 in May. The Company said it will consider and reply to AESU within seven days.

The Company today advised your Union that it will not make any interim payment . It continued to maintain its stand that it will only start negotiations with ......

SIA Service Increment 2010 - Updates

The Union and the Company met at the Ministry Of Manpower (MOM) yesterday on the dispute relating to 2010 Service Increment (SI) for Admin Officers, which was due on 1 January 2010.

The Company's position was that it wanted to wait till the FY2009/10 financial results are known before making any proposals to the Union.

The Union's view was that the grant of SI should not be conditional on the Company's financial performance as its flexible wage structure was designed to deal with business downturns.
